The Last Day

It was a sad day last Wednesday. Peter had to go back to school! Oh boo!! It has been so great to have Peter home. He cooks, he cleans and he does anything I ask. What a great husband! But the day has come where he has to go and make a living. The boys will be sad, he is the breakfast cook. I don't like breakfast so its cereal and sometimes oatmeal. When Peter is home its omelets, pancakes, eggs and waffles. We are so spoiled! So the last day he was home we did one last fun activity. We headed up to Red Butte then The Spaghetti Factory for dinner. It was a great last day. We will miss you Mr. Mom!

Memory Grove

One of our favorite Sunday activities is to go up to City Creek Canyon and Memory Grove. It is so pretty up there and just a great place to sit and relax. There is a little creek that the boys can play in and lots of open space so Sam can run around.

Garden Glory

This year we started our first garden. It has been wonderful. We have so many tomatoes, green beans, peppers, zucchini, yellow squash, cucumber, jalapenos, onions, cherry tomatoes and soon we will have potatoes, and butternut squash. My new favorite thing is every evening I go out and pick all the produce usually I am out there by myself I just find it so relaxing and satisfying, we grew all this! Everything is just so yummy and Peter makes such great salsa and spaghetti sauce. So far we have made pickled jalapenos, salsa, spaghetti sauce with no canned tom just fresh, mozzarella and tomatoes, vegetable stew and BLT's. We just love summer food!!

Our lovely tomatoes

Peter's incredible salsa, he is so talented.

Just a few of our vegetables.

Destruction Baby!

Who doesn't love destruction! Last Wednesday me, my mom, Aydan, and Becca went to the Davis County Fair demolition derby. I was pretty skeptical, I kept asking my mom how it worked. Do they really just crash into each other, this makes no sense, how could this be fun. Then it started and it was wonderful, it was incredible. To see cars slam into each other breaking steel, the smoke, the fire and the destruction was breath taking. I even lost my voice I was screaming and laughing so hard. It was the most fun I have had in a long time, I am now a true lover of the demolition derby. Oh what fun!!

Oh the sweet smell of twisting steel!

This car actually hit the other car hard enough to flip it over! The highlight of the evening!

He's Walking and...

Eating and climbing and swimming and playing and driving and being crazy! After 14 months Sam is finally walking. He walks around the house and giggles. It is so funny! Apparently he thinks it is funny to walk. Even though he just started walking he had been a busy boy. He loves climbing on the chairs, on the table and on the windowsills. He also loves climbing up and down stairs and his most favorite things to do is open and close the back door. He really will open and close that door for 30 minutes or more. Another one of his new skills is driving Aydan's 4-wheeler. He can climb on the 4-wheeler and has figured out how to push down on the gas pedal and away he goes! He can't steer so we have to walk along side him as he drives it around the yard. It is a funny site to see this little boy riding a 4-wheeler. He is a handful but is so full of life and so happy! We love you Sammers!

Natalie Gets Married

Peter's sister Natalie got married on August 1st. It was a very nice ceremony and really fun reception. It was nice to see the extended family and hang out with the nieces and nephews. It is not very often that the whole family gets together. There was good food and lots of laughs. The best part was Aydan got to be the ring bearer. He was so handsome and precious. I will have to admit that I cried when I saw him walking down the aisle with his little ring pillow and looking so handsome. It was so dang cute. Best of luck to Natalie and Jayalen!

More Camping Fun

I am always behind on blogging, summers are just too busy and we are having too much fun! A couple of weeks ago we took the cousins, our two boys and my mom up to the Uintas for some camping. For a Tuesday it was very busy, we went to three different campgrounds before we found a good tent spot. We ended up camping at Mirror Lake. It was so beautiful and the weather was nice and cool. Actually at night it got a little too cool, for me and Sammers. The kids had a great time playing in the meadow and fishing. Peter made some awesome tin foil dinners of course. Unfortunately this was Sammers trial run to see if we would do more camping. And he failed miserably. Sammers was up from 3 am to 5am then woke up at 7am. It was exhausting! So we are going to have to wait until next year to take Sammers again. But we still had a good time and it was good to get out of the heat and enjoy the mountains!
