Aydan Sings

Aydan learned a new Christmas song and it is so dang cute to watch him sing it.

Birthday Festivities

Aydan celebrated his 5th birthday last week. He was lucky enough to have 2 parties. One with his family and then a party with his friends. He got spoiled! On this birthday we went bowling then to dinner. Aydan kicked my butt! I actually did lose to Aydan. I am really not good at bowling. We had a good dinner at Wingers with free Asphalt Pie. I love free things! Then on Saturday he had a little party with his friends, most of them girls of course! It is fun to see Aydan play with his friends, there was lots of running, screaming and knock, knock jokes. Aydan had a great time, I think he is already starting a countdown till his next birthday.

My Baby is 5

Today is Aydan's birthday! He was born 5 years ago at 6:26pm. He weighed 8lbs 7oz and was 21 inches long. It has been a great five years with Aydan. He is so funny and serious at the same time. You will notice in a lot of his pictures he is very serious. That is how he was for the first 4 years. Just recently he is getting silly and all smiles. He was a very good baby, slept through the night at 3 months, can't remember teething being a problem and never got into the cupboards or climbed on anything. Quite the opposite of Sammers! I can't believe that my baby is 5 years old, it has gone by way to fast. Thankfully he has told me I can call him my baby until he becomes taller than me. But he will always be my baby, forever and ever. We love you Aydan!!

Right after his birth, what a big boy!!

Good Old Helper

On December 5th we packed the boys up and headed down to Helper, Utah for the electric light parade. Peter's family is from that area so there are a lot of childhood memories for Peter. Of course we had to go the DI and Walmart. Really there is nothing to do in Helper or Price. At the DI Peter bought this old ten-speed bike. I still have no idea why he would buy it. The hotel was nice and the pool had potential, until we actually were in our swimsuits. The water was really nice and warm but it was like it was an outdoor pool. There was no heat so the the air was 25 degrees! Not so fun. That night we headed into Helper to watch the electric light parade. It was quite the ordeal to bundle the boys up, then ourselves and try walking with all the layers we had on. Poor Sam didn't have so much fun, we may have put too many layers on him, he literally could not move. The parade was lots of fun with lots of candy and even some toys! The temperature was not so nice, it was 19 degrees but with the wind it felt like 5! We all had a great time, and we have found a new family tradition!

Sammers

Yesterday was Sam's 18month check-up. Poor baby had to get 3 shots! He only cried a little. He weighs 23lbs 10oz (19%) and is 34 3/4 in tall (97%). Big surprise tall and skinny! Little Sammers is a handful but a happy handful. He is always smiling and laughing. We love you Sammers!!

Love that smile!

The Pioneer Woman

Last Thursday me and my friend Katrina went to a book signing. Ree has a blog, website that she discusses cooking, homeschooling and photography. Her cooking is awesome, all of her recipes are so yummy and pretty easy to make. Plus there is step by step guide with pictures. It is idiot proof, aka Annie proof. She recently published a cook book and was on tour and we were lucky enough to get her to sign our books. It was so crowded I bet there was over 800 people waiting. It took us about 2 hours waiting in line to have her sign our books. But it was worth it, she is so kind. Of course before the signing we went had a a great dinner at the DoDo. It is one of my favorite places to eat. All I have to say is Tollhouse Pie!!! Oh yea, and in case there is not enough pictures of me and Katrina, on Ree's website thepioneerwoman.com there are pictures of me and Katrina at her lecture and waiting in line. They couldn't get enough of me and Katrina!

Katrina and Ree, they are both so photogenic.

Tanner Park

A couple of Sundays ago we went to Tanner Park. Tanner Park is an awesome dog park in a canyon so there is lots of room for dogs and little boys to run around. It was very warm when we went so it was great. We went with my brother, Kris, his wife MiRanda, and my dad. It was a lot of fun and the boys really enjoyed having all that room to run around. We are going to try to make it a tradition and go every Sunday until it snows. Thanks for the invite Kris and MiRanda!

Halloween Fun

We had a great Halloween. The boys were super excited and got so spoiled! Thankfully it was great weather. Me and Peter both take the boys out, we don't want to miss any of the excitement of trick-o-treating. We just leave the candy in a bowl on the porch and hope for the best. We started a little early so it was still light outside which made it really nice. Aydan bugged us all day to see if it was time to trick-o-treat. Sammers didn't really know what to do but followed Aydan everywhere he went. Instead of putting his candy in his bag he liked to hold it. After a little while we opened some candy of Sam and put him in the stroller. He was so good, he just chilled in the stroller looking at all the crazy kids. The halfway point is going to the donut house. I am not sure who they are but every Halloween they make donuts, apple cider and hot chocolate. They are the best donuts plus a great place to stop and have a rest.
