--make donuts for santa, instead of cookies (i have a super easy biscuit dough recipe! and i'm adopting this tradition this year, too!) --fondue. we LOVE this at our house- both cheese and chocolate --board games and popcorn --open/read a new christmas picture book --have an "appetizer" dinner full of finger foods --read "santa's favorite story"- the perfect blend of secular and spiritual...plus awesome pictures --make reindeer food- mix oatmeal, birdseed and some glitter to sprinkle on your lawn for santa's deer --watch charlie brown christmas in sleeping bags and/or a blanket fort
--at our house and elf comes the day after thanksgiving then periodically through the season- leaving our family things to do during the season (coloring books, basket to fill with food for a neighbor, new gloves to play in the snow, c-mas book to read, disposable cameras to take pictures of the lights at temple square, new pjs, a recipe to make together) this is one of my favorite things!
they have a fun advent calendar that you open each day. instead of chocolate it's a lego piece that builds a little toy in the end. So fun! my kids love it!
