Chicken Fun

The meanest chicken at the fair. He could reach his head out of the cage and grab anything around including fingers, clothes and Tyler!
This weekend we went to the Box Elder County Fair with my cousins from Deweyville. In case you were wondering Deweyville is between Brigham City and Tremonton. Apparently it is tradition to visit the chickens at the fair, find the meanest chicken and try to get it to bite you. What can I say its tradition. Most of us tried it and most of us came out unscathed, except for poor Tyler. The chicken practically took his finger off! His finger only bled a little bit, we didn't even need to visit the first aid tent. Tyler was a good sport, although I don't think we will be able to convince him to do it again.

Bumper Cars

This is a really funny video of Aydan trying to use the bumper cars at Lagoon. Me and MiRanda were laughing so hard, I almost peed my pants!

Lagoon

A couple of weeks ago we got the opportunity to go to Lagoon with MiRanda. Kris had great discount tickets so we all went, Annie, Peter, Aydan, and Sam. Aydan only went on five rides, the train, Puff the roller coaster, bumper cars, boats and the car ride. We could not convince him to go on the airplanes or any other ride. If you know Aydan you know he does his own thing and is very stubborn. But we had a great time watching how excited Aydan got just riding those simple rides. He would get off and jump up and down and say how fun it was. Sam was really good and loved looking at the lights and watching all the excitement.

Poor Baby

Aydan got his first "real" haircut on Monday. Aydan's Noni (Peter's mom) has been the only one that has cut his hair, but mom really wanted a nice haircut, so off we went to get a haircut. We went to a really cute place that had movies and airplanes and trucks that Aydan could sit in. Aydan was being so good, I think he was in shock, he was not moving a muscle. So when the lady said oops, I got his ear a little bit I was surprised. Poor Aydan didn't even cry. As you will see it is not just a little cut, the lady took a chunk from his ear. It bled for at least 10 minutes and Aydan said it hurt a little bit. Thankfully Aydan was nice enough to let the lady finish cutting his hair, so his haircut is super cute, but it cost us part of his ear. What a first haircut experience!

Two Months Old

On July 15th Samuel turned 2 months old. Time has gone by so fast, too fast. Aydan is still loving Sammy and having fun being a big brother. We are still adjusting to having a newborn, I miss my sleep! Sam had his 2 month appointment he weighs 11lbs 7oz(36%) and is 24 inches tall(80%). He is tall and skinny. Surprise, surprise! He had to get three shots and some vaccine orally. He gagged on the oral vaccine and made a big fuss. The shots were not too bad, he screamed when he first got the shots but as soon as I picked him up he stopped crying. It breaks my heart to see him so sad. He is smiling and laughing more than he cries which is a big step!

Our Backpacking Trip

This weekend July18-19th we took Aydan backpacking with some neighbors, Nan, Aaron and Asia. We all had a great time. Aydan hiked the whole 3/4 mile to Cliff Lake then all the way back down the next day. What a trooper! It was fun to be able to spend some alone time with just Aydan and Peter. Aydan has been needing some mommy time. Aydan loved to throw rocks in the lake and play in the tent. It was beautiful in the Uintas and we really enjoyed spending time with Aydan. I think his favorite part was playing with Asia and trying to boss her around.

Sam's Blessing

On Sunday July 13th we blessed Sam. Sam was able to wear the same blessing outfit as Aydan and Peter. It was very special to see him wearing something that all my boys have worn, it was a great tradition that we were able to pass on. Sam was great during the blessing, and even opened up his eyes at the end. He was so cute, when Peter showed everyone Sam you could hear people sigh and laugh. I sure do love my little Sam. We are very blessed to have another little boy and he is so dang cute! Also included is the picture of Aydan in the same blessing outfit. What does everybody think, do they look alike?
