Crazy Christmas

What a great Christmas. It wasn't without the stress but it was a lot of fun. We were able to have the entire Wiseman family here for Christmas. My younger brother, his wife and their precious son came from out of town, my aunt also was able to join us from out of town. We were so blessed to have a house full of family! I loved spending time with both my niece and nephew. They both are beyond special and I am so happy that the boys have cousins to grow up with. Aydan, Sam and Wyatt had a exciting Christmas season. Lots of late nights, tons of laughs and a lot of wrestling. This year all three boys enjoyed opening gifts and actually got excited for presents. Wyatt was the king of opening presents, not only his but everyone's. You will notice not a lot of pictures of Sam, there are two reasons for this. One he is too active to stay still for any amount of time and two he is in the phase where he doesn't do anything I ask. So when I say smile so I can take your picture he turns his face or hides. Oh Sammers! Aydan was happy to have both his cousins here, he loves babies. He is a sweet boy and is trying real hard to be grown up. I have to remind him that he is seven not seventy! Thanks to all my family for all their help, all the fun times, laughs, craziness and joy that you brought me, Peter and the boys! I love the Wiseman clan so very much!!

It was a fantastic Halloween this year. The weather was perfect, the boys were so cute and we all had a lot of fun. The best part is the boys stopped asking for their candy the day after Halloween! Either because they know I won't give it to them or they are getting it somewhere else!

My sweet Aydan! What a great little man he is. So very smart, logical but has a flare of creativity. He has been taking piano lessons and is actually quite good, even his piano teacher is impressed. Aydan is very sensitive, has a very kind heart and passionate. With passion comes some intense tantrums and fights with Sam. He is a helpful older brother and loves to read and play with Sam and Wyatt. Aydan loves to be in charge, hence The Boss nickname, he asks me frequently if he can be in charge and tell us what to do. He makes us laugh! Aydan thank you for all your help, for being so sweet and for your great foot rubs and shoulder rubs! You are the best little man.

What can I say about my Sammers. He is so full of life, so happy, and sweet. He loves to cuddle and is starting to enjoy reading books for longer than 5 seconds. One of my favorite things I do with Sam is when we put him to bed he always asks if I will lie with him. So we cuddle and visit. I love to see him smile and the look of enjoyment on his face is priceless. I love this little guy and he really is a joy to be around. We are still trying to figure out the best way to discipline Sam, he has us stumped in that aspect, so any advice would be great! Sam you have a great spirit and I hope you will always have such enthusiasm for life. We love you buddy!

Baby Wyatt

How cute is my baby Wyatt? He is such a kind, sweet, calm, happy baby and I can't believe his hair is still blond! He is beginning to talk a little, saying mama, dada, papa, and oh no. Wyatt's favorite thing is to read books, he loves to sit on your lap and read books for 20 minutes or more. While his brothers are running around and playing cars Wyatt is sitting and reading books. All the boys have such different personalities and it is fun to see Wyatt getting a personality and interacting more with his big brothers. We are so blessed to have him in our family. So many spiritual experiences have surrounded Wyatt and he truly is a gift from God (and really aren't all children a gift from God).

Moab Rocks

Warning! Extreme picture overload.

Over the weekend we went down to Moab for our annual trip with the Jones. Nothing beats Moab for outdoor fun. There is just so much to do, we didn't have enough time for everything we wanted to do. But that is okay, we will do it next year! This year we hiked around Arches, spent the afternoon hanging out at a beach on the Colorado river and relaxed at the condo. Our favorite part was the Colorado river. The beach was perfect! Nothing but warm sand and hardly any people. The water was a bit cold but I was brave and actually got in and went swimming for awhile. The kids loved playing in the sand, burying Peter and making mud. Arches was of course beautiful. It's a boys paradise to be able to run and explore. Outdoors is just perfect for my three boys! Aydans favorite part was going to the rock and stone store. Seriously this place just sells rocks! Peter and Aydan spent more than half a hour looking around and buying rocks. Aydan just loves collecting treasures! It was a great weekend and just what we needed to end the summer. Everyone mark your calendars for Labor Day 2013, you won't be disappointed!

My two older babies started school this week. Aydan started first grade and Sam started preschool. This is the first time Sam has been to any formal school. I think he was nervous the first day but seemed to have a good time and was excited when he got home. Aydan is now gone ALL day. I don't like it at all! I miss him so much, and it makes me sad that he just keeps growing up. But Aydan loves school, always has a smile on his face and loves to learn. We love you Aydan and Sam, my two handsome boys!!

Peter planned a trip to the Uintas Aug 10 - 11. He took Aydan and Dusty (his nephew). He also invited is good friend Mike Handy and his son and his long time friend Brendon Hatch and his son. They hiked about 2 miles to Twin Lakes. They "went" off trail for a little bit. This was a difficult hike for the three young boys and all three were awesome and had a great time.

I can't believe summer is coming to an end. One of our favorite activities is swimming. Aydan has become a great little swimmer and Sam thinks he is a great little swimmer. Good thing we watch Sammers pretty closely. I have seen him fall under the water at least three times! Baby Wyatt takes some time to get use to the water, at first he cries but then he is all smiles. I love swimming in the summer, I absolute hate cold or even slightly cool water. So outdoor pools with warm water is the best!! We are really enjoying this summer and spending a lot of time with our cute boys. I am not ready to let summer go yet.

Baby Wyatt finally for his first hair cut. I have been putting it off for awhile. I always hate the first hair cut. It seems that once you cut their hair they look grown up and so much older. I want Wyatt to stay a baby forever! He did really good getting the hair cut, he cried only a little and no part of his body was harmed. The stylist did a great job and I really do like his new hair cut. But it made him look like he was two. But regardless he still responds to the name Baby. We love you baby Wyatt!!

We (Annie, Peter and Wyatt) had the opportunity to go to Colorado and visit our new nephew. And it was so fun and relaxing! Although the trip started out poorly. We were suppose to fly, but the flight got cancelled, Frontier is the worst airline ever! So we decided to drive. Apparently Wyatt hates the car. He cried and fussed for at least half the drive. Poor Wyatt and poor us! But it was so worth it, to be able to spend time with Paul, Tisha and Maxwell. I had plenty of time to just hold Maxwell, there is nothing better than snuggling with a new baby!! He is so very cute and such a sweet baby. I tried sneaking him into my luggage but Peter said no. Boo! Paul and Tisha are so cute with him, you can feel the love they have for this little guy. And of course Wyatt got a lot of love too!

Vacation

The first part of June we headed down to Canyonlands. We camped in this fabulous campground. It was private, no one else even close to us, big and safe, no rivers or bodies of water to worry about. It was like a giant sandbox. And of course what could be better for boys but a giant sandbox with boulders to play on! We were able to enjoy lots of great little hikes, yummy food and lots of relaxing. Personally I love the desert, it is so open, so beautiful, unique and breathtaking! We could have stayed another week and hope to go down again soon.

A couple of weeks ago we took the boys to Boondocks. It was of course a lot of fun. The weather was nice and there was hardly anyone there. It made for a great day! Aydan loved miniature golf, Sam loved the bumper boats and Wyatt loved pushing his own stroller. I of course was all about the go-carts, except the screaming, crying Sam in the passenger seat. Maybe I was going a bit too fast! Peter's favorite was laser tag, and of course we took the whole family, baby and all. Wyatt made a good human barrier! We had a great time, thanks Paul and Tisha for the gift certificate!

So much has gone on in the last couple of weeks. One great thing that happened was Aydan graduated from Kindergarten. He has had such a great year. And he really has loved going to school, loves math and enjoys reading. It is touching to see Aydan read to Sam and Wyatt. Aydan's teacher was the best. So patient, kind and helped Aydan excel in every way. He has changed so much over a year! I can't believe that he will be a first grader. I am not sure if I can let him go all day every day! His graduation program was so cute and just the right length. I loved to see the joy on Aydan's face during his program and especially when he got his diploma. Aydan is such a intelligent, sensitive, strong little boy. We love you Aydan pants!!

Wyatt's Just Fine

We had a HUGE scare on Wednesday. Wyatt was run over by a truck, and walked away with just some bumps, bruises and one sore foot. A miracle and blessing. We know without a doubt that he was being watched over by Heavenly Father and he is one special little boy. Words don't express our relief, joy, and gratitude that we have our baby Wyatt safe. He is such a calm little guy. When he first got to the hospital he of course was really sad and upset. But after the IV was placed and xrays were done he calmed right down. All he wanted to do was be held. As long as me and Peter were holding him he was content. But if one of the doctors or nurses came in he would instantly start crying. If one of us left the room he would start crying. He just wanted his mom and dad close and believe me we didn't want to put him down or leave the room. I honestly don't ever want to put him down, don't ever want to stop hugging and squeezing him. As ER's go we had to wait hours for tests, blood work and talking to the many doctors; throughout that time Wyatt just sat in our arms so calm, sweet and mellow. That little boy means more to our family than I can express. He was meant for our family and I hope we can remember this time not as a time of stress and tragedy but as a time of great love and joy. We love you Wyatt, we love you Sam and we love you Aydan. You all mean so much to us!!

Sam made it to three! He is such a big boy now. Sam has changed so much in the last couple of months. He is talking, making his own train tracks, can actually sit for longer than a minute and is Aydan's new best friend! It is so nice that the boys can play together. I love to hear Aydan say lets play Sam and off they go. Sam just loves his Aydan. He is still as wild and crazy as ever. But that mischievous smile and all the hugs and kisses he loves to give keeps us mostly sane!! Happy birthday Sam, we love you so very much.

Easter celebration was full of fun. We dyed Easter eggs, put together the sandbox, and had an Easter egg hunt. Aydan was too excited to tell us he was awake, so there is no pictures of him looking for his basket. By the time I got up he had his Easter basket and all the goodies out! He also was excited to "help" his brothers find their baskets. Later that day we had a fun family get together at Kris and Miranda's house. It ended up being a nice day so the boys were able to run around, we had another Easter egg hunt, ate awesome food and the adults played a really fun game. It was nice to spend time with my little family and my whole family.

How did my baby go from this

To this so fast!

On April 21st Wyatt turned one! I can't believe that he is one already. I only cried once, ok maybe twice. It all goes by so very fast. I can see why the youngest gets spoiled, I still rock baby Wyatt to sleep, I still pick him up when he so much as whimpers, he still gets lots of cuddles and love from his older brothers and of course we still call him baby. He is one lucky little man.

On Friday we had a birthday bash with family and friends. It was a lot of fun and the food was awesome! Peter made his oh so yummy spaghetti sauce, I could eat that every day. Wyatt had his first taste of cake, and of course loved it. He was a huge mess, along with the highchair. He got a lot of fun gifts that not only did Wyatt love but so did Sam and Aydan. Benefits of having boys they can all share in birthdays!! Wyatt is such a special part of our family. He has such a calming spirit about him. Our family would not feel complete without this little guy. Thank you Wyatt for all your smiles, wet kisses, laughs and hugs! We love you!!

A couple of weeks ago I finally got the courage to take the three boys to the aquarium with a little help. It is a feat to be able to load the boys in the van, drive for any extended period of time and hope they behave in public. But all went well and we had a great time! The boys loved the sharks, and I loved watching them run from tank to tank just excited to be out and free. Love my boys!!

On February 18th the boys and the girl got a night all their own. I was able to have a fantastic girls night with some of my best friends and all my sisters. It was a first to be able to have dinner with my sisters-in-law MiRanda, Tisha and my sister Tara. We had a great dinner at Setebellos then back to my house for some much needed girl talk. I am so lucky to have such a great group of friends. They are so supportive and encouraging. Thanks girls for a fun evening! That same night Peter, my brother Paul and Tyler took Aydan and Sam to the monster truck show. They had a really fun time, stayed up too late and may have damaged their ear drums but it was worth it! And where was baby Wyatt through all of this, he had a date with grandma and was in bed by eight.

The 10 Most Irritating, Least Helpful Parenting Tips Ever

I have nothing against friends and family offering advice when you come to them with a dilemma. It's the people who pipe up, unbidden, because they see you with a child and assume you have no idea what you're doing. Too often these people are elderly great-aunts. Fortunately those ladies are afraid of the Internet, so I can rail against them and they'll be none the wiser! Thanks, ladies.

1. "Sleep now, because once that baby comes you'll never sleep again." Technically this is a pregnancy tip, of course, but I'm shoving it in here anyway. Yes, Great-Aunt Hildy, I will sleep throughout my entire third trimester. Because I am part bear.

2. "Sleep when the baby sleeps." Everyone gives you this one — annoying relatives, pediatricians, the cashier at the drugstore where you were buying newborn diapers. Are these people all robots, capable of instantly dropping off to sleep whenever their child is unconscious? Do they not have other things to do, like bathe, or simply relish the rare moments of silence you get when you have an infant?

3. "I think your baby's hungry." Whether you're nursing or bottle-feeding, everyone assumes you don't know how to feed your child. And every time your child cries, whines, grimaces, or squirms, they are going to assume you are starving your poor baby and you need reminders to feed it. Lest you forget! This advice is especially maddening when they turn out to be correct.

4. "Relish every moment of your baby's first years, because they'll be grown before you know it." You mean, time only moves forward? I had no idea! I thought we'd be like this forever and ever! This sort of advice, obvious and innocuous as it seems, always put me on the defensive, as if I had just been carrying my baby under my arm like a football, muttering, "Grow up already, why don't you. Just GROW UP."

5. "I hope you're sleep training that child. Do you WANT him to be spoiled?" Oh, distant relative/person whose aisle I shared at the supermarket, I'm so glad you know exactly my child needs. And that you know, from your years of scientific research, that any child not allowed to cry it out will be a horrible waste of flesh! (See #6 for this parenting tip's counterpart.)

6. "I hope you're not doing that 'crying it out' thing. It's so barbaric. Enjoy your baby all through the night!" Again, kudos to you, whoever you are, for knowing what's best for our unique family situation! I will be calling you at 4 a.m., so you can enjoy our baby as well.

7. "Why are you bringing your child outside when it's so cold out?" It never ceased to amaze me that, no matter what my child's age, total strangers will express alarm and revulsion that I dared expose him to the elements. "And WHY ISN'T BE WEARING MITTENS? He's going to get consumption!"

8. "Your child isn't really sad/angry/injured. He's just manipulating you." There's no doubt that children can push our buttons as if they've had professional training in it, but the notion that my kid's authentic feelings are in fact manufactured to elicit a reaction really chaps my hide. If that were always true, he'd be a pint-sized sociopath. I'm pretty sure that's not the case.

9. "Schools are just glorified prisons. If you loved your child, you'd homeschool." Oh, if only I loved my child enough to abandon my livelihood, tear him away from the community he so enjoys, separate him from the professionals who have dedicated their careers to childhood education, and forced him to stay home all day with me, where we'd be at each other's throats for hours! If only! Please note: I am not opposed to homeschooling, at all — in fact I wish it would work for us, but it would not.

10. "If I were you, I'd just—" OH NO YOU DON'T. I know where this is going. Listen, unnamed distant acquaintance who last parented in the 19th century (it's true — I often get my unwanted advice from ghosts) you don't know diddly about my kid, and our relationship, and what works for us.

Well! That felt good. What did I miss? What parenting advice could you do without, forever? Speak now!

We finally got a rec pass! We have moved up in the world. We have been having fun taking the boys swimming and of course they love it. Anything active and the boys are in heaven. I would like the pool to be a bit warmer. Yes I know I am a princess! And sorry Aydan we have no pictures of you. You were having way too much fun to be bothered with pictures. Aydan can swim on his own and is so confident, he has such a blast in the lazy river.

9 months

Really nine months old?! He weighs 19 lbs 11 oz (35%) and is 29 inches (74%). He is getting really big and is so much fun. He loves to clap, loves to eat and loves to open all the cupboards and empty them out. Wyatt is such a sweet, calm and cuddly baby. My favorite thing is that he will respond to Wyatt and to baby! He will forever be know as baby. We love you baby Wyatt!!

It Never Ends

Humidifiers, Tylenol, ibuprofen, Kleenexes, antibiotics, lack of sleep, croup, ear infections, sinus infections, eye infections, coughs, runny noses, lots of jammy days, too many movies and more croup. We have had your fare share of sickness. And it just keeps coming. Even while the boys were on antibiotics Aydan picked up some new cough and by the end of the week I am sure the rest of the boys will have it! Thankfully Wyatt has only been infected with croup and he recovered very fast without any complications. We are surviving and the boys have been really good about taking their medicines. Hopefully by March we will be infection free and ready for Spring!

We got lots of outdoor play in before you could taste the air. Now of course we are home bound and waiting anxiously for a good snow storm or spring! The boys really love the snow and being outside. They also love being dad's little helpers. They each have their own snow shovel and enjoy shoveling, one of the many benefits of having boys. Soon Peter won't have to shovel at all!

Tonsils Again

Last Friday Aydan got his tonsils out. We has done remarkably well. Sam was so sick and miserable we were prepared for the worst. And so far it hasn't been bad. Five hours after surgery Aydan ate a grilled cheese sandwich! He hardly complains of pain and is acting almost like his old self. It is hard to try to get him to rest and relax when he feels so good! He might even be able to go to school on Wednesday. I am sad he is doing so well because I couldn't mother him, and cuddle with him more!

How cool is this, the doctor gave us his tonsils!

We had such a great Christmas this year. Aydan and Sam were so into all that is Christmas. They loved the lights, the decorations, the music, food, Santa and of course the gifts. Christmas morning was especially fun, they were so excited. Running around all crazy, what a day! It was nice to spend the day at home. We didn't go anywhere or do much but play with the boys. It was really nice to be home with the family, we all felt content. Now how do we get Sam to behave if the Elfs aren't watching anymore!?

Aydan turned 6 on December 16th. I can't believe that he is six already. It was just yesterday that I was pregnant then at the hospital having my first born son. I still feel like he is still a newborn. I remember everything about that day, about every milestone, about every year. Really it still feels like he is my baby. I was induced about a week early, labor was easy, epidural worked great. Then came the pushing, he just didn't want to come out. Which is just like he is, cautious, never wanting to try new things. After over almost two hours and some distress by me and Aydan he made his appearance. 8 pounds 7 ounces, 21 inches long. Fussy baby, jaundice, cried a lot, not easy to smile but what a joy he was! I loved every minute I spent with him. Late night feedings, and lots of rocking and cuddling. I actually watched the first and second season of Alias during the newborn months! Aydan hated sleeping in his crib the only place where he would sleep was in his bouncer, oh how he loved that thing. But after three months of transition he was sleeping from 8pm to 8am. He was a very predictable little man and loved his routine, still is! He walked a little before his first birthday, finally gave up his binky when he was three, and potty trained when he was three and a half. So much has happened, time has gone by too fast! I am still mourning that fact that Aydan turned six. Just today he had a mild fever so I was getting him some Tylenol. And because he is six and weighs over 45 pounds I could have the children's chew-up. There is was on the box six to eight 2 pills. How can this be? And so a cried, just a little, but I cried. I just want all my babies to stay little!
Aydan is a wonderful little man. He is so caring with his little brothers and has a real sensitive side. In movies where little kids or babies cry he has to close his eyes and plug his ears. He just hates when little ones cry. He is very smart, loves to read and is really loving Kindergarten. Aydan also has a goofy side, he loves making his own jokes up and loves pulling funny faces. We are so proud to have a son like Aydan! We love you buddy!!

Zoo Lights

On Monday night we took the boys to Zoo Lights. It was fabulous. The weather was perfect, not to cold or snowy. This year the boys have really been into Christmas lights, so Zoo lights was prefect. Sam got to run around like his wild little self and they got to get up close to all the lights. Most of the animals were sleeping or hiding but we did get to see the tiger, reindeer and all the snakes. Wyatt was awesome, just sat in the stroller and looked around, such a good little baby. And poor Wyatt gets left out of a lot of pictures because he is bundled up and in the stroller. We will definitely be going back next year, we found a new family tradition!

This last Monday we had a little Christmas party with the girls and their girls! We decorated sugar cookies, and ate them, sooo yummy! And we made snow globes, I am so crafty. The kids had a great time creating their snow globes, even Sam sat down long enough to make one. It was a great party and the kids all play really good together. Aydan and Sam love the ladies!

Electric Light Parade

On December third we bundled the boys up and headed to Bountiful's Electric Light Parade. The best part is we can walk from our house, I love living so close to all the Bountiful activities. It was nice and short, the boys loved it!

The camera is full of pictures so just decided to post some of my favorites. Not too much excitement going on at the Nortons. We are loving the Christmas season. The boys absolutely love Christmas music and Christmas lights. Our new found activity is driving around looking at lights. Aydan and Sam love to say ohh, awe. Very funny. Wyatt is a master crawler and loves to pull himself up on things and stand. He is still a very easy going little guy. He loves to just crawl around and discover the house. Can't wait for all the Christmas parties, food and Santa! Have a great holiday season!!

We are just so proud of Aydan. He is such a responsible, fun little boy. We just had his first parent teacher conference and he is doing awesome! He is one of the top readers and is ahead on letters, counting and math. And yesterday at school he won a bike! At his school if you read everyday you get your name into a drawing for a bike and he won! He was so very excited and I was even more excited. We are very lucky to have a son like Aydan, he so very sweet with his little brothers. Wyatt just lights up when he sees Aydan. Thank you Aydan for being such great little man. We love you!!

We had a fun and rainy Halloween. We went up to Aaron's and Nan's for trick-o-treating and a yummy dinner afterward. Of course the minute we went outside to trick-o-treat it started pouring. But we were all troopers and went out and got soaking wet. But it was so worth it, the kids had a great time and nobody got sick from the rain or candy!

Wyatt is six months old already! He had his well baby check-up and is getting so big. He weighs 16 lbs 8 oz (29%) and is 27 1/4 inches long (76%). He is the smallest of all the boys, but not by much. He is turning over, sitting up and almost crawling. I keep telling him to stop growing and stay little forever, but he just won't listen to me. Wyatt is such a happy, easy going baby. He loves to sit in my lap and just watch his brothers play. The boys are having fun with baby Wyatt. Aydan is great at watching him while I do chores, Aydan can always make Wyatt laugh. Sam is good at giving him his binkie and rubbing his back if he cries. Both Sam and Aydan are so loving with Wyatt. Wyatt is so very lucky to have two sweet and caring older brothers.

Yesterday Sam got his adenoids and tonsils taken out. He is a horrible sleeper, is restless and snores. So we are hoping this will do the trick. The surgery was only 30 minutes, recovery took a bit longer because he refused to drink anything. Yesterday was a little tough, poor Sam was in a lot of pain and was just plain miserable. He was up most of the night, lots of crying and cuddling. But today he is doing much better. Pain is in control and he actually gets off the couch and plays. He is surviving on popsicles, Jamba Juice and ice chips, but he is surviving.

This year we were able to go to Kerrianne's own pumpkin patch! Her family owns a farm complete with a field of pumpkins. The boys were able to run around undisturbed and Sam hardly got into any trouble! Aydan picked out a big pumpkin that I can't wait to carve. And Miranda was so cute, she was like a kid in a candy store. She was very excited, she ran around more than the boys did. She has an eye for pumpkins and picked out the best ones!

Camping Buddies

Peter has been camping every month for almost two years, even in the winter. And now that Aydan is big enough he often joins in the fun. I love that Peter is active and enjoys the outdoors and Aydan loves the outdoors just as much. Peter is such a great dad and enjoys spending time with the boys. It is nice that Aydan gets some one on one time with Peter. I just can't wait for all the boys to get big enough so we can enjoy camping as a family!

The Dirty Dash

It will be hard for anyone to believe but I did finish my first 10K. I can't believe I did it! This 10K was full of obstacles and was more of a trail run. We had to jump over hay bails, climb over walls, jump through tires, crawl through pipes, run through a very stinky swamp, slide on slip n' slide and finally crawl through a giant mud pit. So much fun and oh so messy! I thought I might die at one point, why did there have to be so many hills!! Thankfully I had a buddy with my that isn't much of a runner too, so me and Heather made it together. We like to say we "hiked" the 10K. It was a lot of fun and I am proud of myself that I actually did it. And me and Peter are already signed up for the 5K Dirty Dash in May. Can't wait! Thank you Miranda, Nan and Heather for the great adventure. Thank you Katrina for all the great pictures! And thank you Aydan and Peter for being there to support me, love you guys so much!!

On August 26th Wyatt started his first solid foods. We started with carrots, which he didn't care for at first. Such a different taste than formula. But he is loving the baby food now. He likes to make happy noises when we eats food, it is so cute. He absolutely does not like peaches, he shuts his mouth tight and will not eat. His favorite is sweet potatoes and pears. How is my baby already big enough for baby food?

Over Labor Day weekend we took a trip to Moab. We rented a three bedroom condo with the Jones and my mom. We have figured out that is the best deal, it seems to save money plus you feel like you are home without being home. LOVE IT! We had a lot of fun hiking (minus getting lost and the poison ivy I got), swimming, eating and relaxing. The weather was perfect and the scenery gorgeous. This time instead of Arches we headed to Canyonlands. We have never been there and it was a great change. Canyonlands was spectacular! Me and Peter was surprised at how well the kids did. Sam survived the four hour car ride with little trouble and Wyatt slept great at night. Aydan was a great help, such a cute little man. Can't wait to go again!!

Just showing off the wonderful produce our garden grew this year. We love growing our own garden and the boys love to help pick ripe and not so ripe vegetables. How does time go so fast! It was just yesterday that I gave birth to my baby Aydan and now he is in kindergarten. It makes me sad, but I am trying to keep it together. He is loving school so far. He is pretty social so anytime he can be with friends he is happy. I am loving his teacher, Mrs. Millers. She is a grandma type teacher and is all loving! Perfect! It is fun to walk Aydan to school and pick him up with Sam and Wyatt tagging along. I love to see how excited he gets to go to school. He is such a smart kid and I hope his love of school continues.

Denver Baby!

The first part of August Tara, Wyatt and I went to Denver to visit my Aunt Dene. We found killer cheap airfare and couldn't pass up the opportunity to have a mini-vacation (3 days). While we were in Denver we enjoyed excellent food both eating out and dinning in, we were able to hang out with my little brother and his wife for a couple of hours, we saw hundreds of butterfly's, did some shopping and had lots of laughs. It was a great time and Wyatt was lucky enough to meet his great Aunt Dene and his new doggy friend, Melvin, for the first time. Wyatt was super spoiled with all the love!

Its that time of year again when the demolition derby comes to Davis County! And of course we were all there, except for Peter. Poor Peter missed it last year because Sam was sick and this year we got him a ticket and it ended up being back to school night. Boo!! But we were able to take our adopted daughter, Becca, she is a good sport. Unfortunately this year was kind of a disappointing. There was not as many cars, way too much time in between rounds and not as many cars on fire. But we all still had a blast and the boys loved it!

The end of July we headed off to Price. I know what you are all thinking, what is in Price. Well it was the Castlevalley Pageant. It is a pageant about how the Mormon pioneers came to the Price area. It was a fun pageant, a little long but we survived. The best part was the cow mooing through most of the pageant. She was not happy to be there. The kids were able to get some swimming in, we went to the dinosaur museum and of course hit the DI and Walmart. There really is not much to do in Price!

I don't usually use my blog for my personal opinions but I find this very important. People who don't vaccinate their children have an impact on my children and the rest of society. The little ones, infants especially, are not fully immune to childhood diseases even if they are getting the vaccines. So if someone gets whooping cough, a highly contagious disease, they can easily give it to a young child and make them seriously ill and even die. Please vaccinate your children! Childhood diseases like whopping cough, measles, mumps, and polio are not things that you want your child to experience.

We had a great 24th, so much fun! First I woke up at 5am and me and Ashley went to reserve our spots for the Bountiful parade. The parade was hot and long but we had fun. Although I feel like one of the few responsible parents there. Seriously people watch your kids! There are cars, motorcycles and truck all of which can hit your child. Don't let your child run along the floats to get more candy, it is called sharing. Don't be so involved with texting, talking or whatever else you are doing to lose your 3 year old and have him crying and lost. Seriously this kid was more than a block away from his family. And don't let your big kids stand right in front of my little kids or I will lose it, as I did several times during the parade. Next time I am going to hand out fliers with guidelines on proper parade etiquette because apparently people are that clueless!! Ok enough of that. The kids got lots of candy and prizes and no one got lost or hurt. On Saturday we went to the ward breakfast then off to the carnival. Thankfully our boys are not adventurous and would only go on the bounce houses and the train ride. That saved us a lot of money! Thanks boys. The next evening we had outdoor movie night with the neighbors. This was the first time we tried it and it worked great! We watched a funny movie and had yummy popcorn. We will definitely be doing this again. This was a the best weekend of the summer!

Summer Fun

Just more pictures of the summer activities. In my neighborhood we have playgroup every Wednesday. It has been fun and a great idea. This week we have a bike parade. The kids decorated their bikes then off they went, with Erin leading the way. It was really cute! Then later that day I got the slip n' slide and the pool out of my boys. The boys love water so of course they had a great time.

A couple of Sundays ago we all went with Peter's family to the Centerville waterfall. It is a short, easy hike but lots of fun. The boys did great on this hike and Sam walked the whole way by himself. Me and Peter are super excited that the boys love hiking and the outdoors!

In June we took an adventure to Wall Lake in the Uintas. It was a comical adventure. On the way there Sam was a pill, nothing but whining. Then as we started to hike it was taking Sam way to long to hike by himself so we put him in the backpack, and the whining started again. Aydan thankfully was doing great. He had his little backpack and was taking the lead. He is a great little hiker, like father like son. Eventually Sam stopped whining and we made it to Wall Lake. We had a picnic lunch and the boys played in the water. They had a great time throwing rocks into the water. On the way back Aydan got a stomach ache and Peter had to carry him all the way back. Thankfully it is a short 1 mile hike and thankfully Peter's friend Pete and his wife came so there was someone to carry Sam down. As much as we love the Unitas I think we have learned to hike closer to home!!

Aydan just finished swim lessons. He has a awesome teacher, Adrienne, and he improved so much in the short two weeks. He now will go underwater without plugging his nose, he can do the front stroke and can actually swim a short distance by himself. Maybe a future medalist!

A favorite outing of the Norton family is to go to Red Butte gardens. We love to wander around the gardens, see all the cool and interesting plants, feed the fish and ducks then end the day at the children's garden. The children's garden is especially cool. There is a fountain the kids can play in, a vine tunnel, a tepee, a giant sandbox and little garden homes. Everything is kid friendly and there is only one way out so no losing Sammers!

Crazy Wyoming

This year for the 4th we went up to Evanston with my mom, brother, his wife, and some of their friends. Peter's mom was nice enough to let ALL three boys sleep over, as we were going to be late returning home. Evanston for the 4th is beyond crazy. Tons of people go to this one park so they can see the Evanston city firework show but also to light off all of their big fireworks. And these are not just little fountains, their fireworks are the big, loud, bright and dangerous ones. It was so much fun. All around you there are fireworks going off, we were hit by some fireworks, some guys trunk with his fireworks caught on fire and the field across the street caught on fire. It was pure madness, but pure fun! I couldn't stop smiling!! We are definitely going again next year.

Wyatt's Blessing

On Sunday July 4th we blessed Wyatt. Peter did a great job and Wyatt was perfectly behaved. Wyatt was blessed in the same outfit that Peter, Aydan, and Sam was blessed in. It was so special to have all the boys share that special outfit. We had a fun lunchon after the blessing and I was too busy eating all the yummy food to take any pictures. But it was a great day, and it was fun to have the whole family together. Thanks to everyone that came and to those that brought food! And thanks to my boys and husband for being so cute!!

Little Wyatt

Today was Wyatt's two month doctors appointment. We weighs 11 lbs, 13 oz (53%) and is 23 1/2 inches long (72%). And he took his three shots like a champ! He is doing great and sleeping even better. He on average will sleep 8 hours at night! Thank goodness. Sam didn't sleep through the night until he was almost 2. We are super excited that we have a good sleeper and a good baby. He is a very calm baby, not much of a crier, enjoys just being held or lying on the couch watching his brothers play. Wyatt has been a great blessing in our lives and great addition to our family. We love you Wyatt!

Parents Trip

On June 4th me and Peter, just me and Peter, headed to California for a wedding. It was a short 4 day trip with lots of driving, but we had so much fun. Me and Peter have not had that sort of time together in a long while, so it was nice to hang out, have fun and laugh. The first night we drove to Vegas and spent a short 8 hours there, including sleep. Before we arrived in Vegas we came upon a horrible motorcycle accident. 5 motorcycles and a car were involved, and we happen to be the first ones there. Pretty bad and icky. Thankfully they were all wearing helmets but they were still really hurt. Going 80 mph and hitting a car causes lots of damage to the human body! We were stuck there for almost 4 hours so didn't get to Vegas until 2am, then had to wake up early to get to the wedding in California. The wedding was really nice and Peter was especially happy we were able to see one of his best friends get married. Then the next day we drove again to Vegas, this time we had plenty of time to hang out and relax. We didn't even make it to the strip. We stayed by the pool and went to a movie. People watching in Vegas is the best! Then on Monday we headed home. We loved our little vacation together but we both were excited to get home and see the boys.

Baseball Stuff

Aydan just finished his first season of baseball. He of course loved it, me and Peter not so much. It is a little boring to watch ten kids all try to hit the ball. But it is worth going and seeing Aydan having fun and being goofy.

Graduation

Aydan has graduated from preschool! I can't believe that he is going to be in kindergarten. Life goes by to fast. My baby is getting so big and independent. Aydan has has a great time this year, learned so much and even had his first girlfriend. We were lucky to find his preschool teacher, she exceeded our expectations. She was so kind and patient with the kids, Aydan just loved her and loved going to school. He is going to do awesome in kindergarten, we are so proud of how much Aydan has grown and all that he has learned. Thanks Miss Mindy!

Poor Wyatt

Baby Wyatt has had a rough couple of days. Both Aydan and Sam have been sick with a cold/flu. And of course Wyatt ended up getting it. But because of his age and the fever they had to do a whole sepsis workup and he spent a day and a half at Primarys. Poor Wyatt! He ended up getting an IV, a nose aspiration, a catheter for a urine sample and the worst part a spinal tap. And to top everything off he was having a hard time breathing so they had to put him on oxygen. He had holes and tubes everywhere. But he was a trooper and made it through ok. He ended up having some flu virus but they kept him a little longer to make sure he didn't get any sicker. Which thankfully he didn't, he is home and doing great. This better be the end of our bad luck!

On May 15th our little Sammers turned 2. It is crazy that our baby is already 2. It was just yesterday that he was just born and so little. How time flies. Sammers is a very funny and crazy kid. His favorite game is to play in the living room with all the pillows and of course with Aydan by his side. It provides hours of fun for both boys. Sammers absolutely loves Thomas the Train. He is in love. We have tried to put other movies on but he instantly starts saying Thomas. Sam is full of life and loves to be the comedian. If you laugh at something he is doing he will continue to do it just for a laugh. He loves life and is very curious. He likes to see how things works and is always getting into everything. We love to see Sam smile, when he smiles his little eyes scrunch up and he just lights up. And now after 20 or so months Sam is sleeping through the night. Thank goodness. He is full of energy he just didn't want to miss anything. We love our little Sam and have so much fun with the boys. We love you Sammers.

Crazy Life

Sorry for the picture overload. I am just so proud of my cute family, it's hard to pick what pictures to post. The last couple of weeks have been crazy, crazy!! My brother and his wife came for a visit. It was super fun. They are both so cute with the boys and it was nice to hang out with adults. We even made it to a movie! The boys absolute loved hanging out wrestling, and playing with Uncle Paul and Aunt Tisha. Next Peter went back to work so it has just been me and the boys. Most of the time I am overwhelmed, but I have survived. It is a lot of work, especially since Sam has become even more of a handful. He will not listen to us and just gets into everything. Any discipline ideas are welcome. Really you try to discipline Sammers and he just smiles. He does not take us seriously. And poor little Wyatt gets too much attention from Sam. You have to keep Wyatt with you at all times or in a safe place that Sam can't reach. Oh sigh.. Thankfully Aydan is a real help. He just loves his new brother. He is so soft and caring. It really is cute to see him interact with Wyatt. Aydan has such a tender heart. Wyatt is getting big and we still are not sure who he looks like. He just looks like Wyatt. Hopefully he will look more like me since both the other boys are so obvious Peters. Wyatt is a really good baby. Not much crying, likes to just sleep or when he is awake just hang out and watch what is going on around him. He seems to be a serious baby, he always has a wrinkled brow. We are having a good time with Wyatt and enjoying every minute of this last little newborn.

Wyatt Ren was born today at 1038am. A very fast and painful labor. He weighs 8 pounds 1 ounce and 20 1/2 inches long. He has lots of blond hair! We love him already!!

Tomorrow marks the end of 9 months of making a baby! Thankfully my doctor will be inducing me tomorrow, no more waiting! I am beyond excited. I am not one of those people that enjoy pregnancy in the least. But having a baby is well worth all the heartburn, nausea, LOTS of weight gain and the irritability. Thankfully I have a very sweet husband that has been so supportive and loving. Most of the time when I am feisty and a little scary (o.k a lot scary) he can just laugh it off and give me some perspective. He can always make me laugh. We can't wait to meet this new little boy, and are super excited to be adding another boy to our family. Below are some VERY rare pictures of me pregnant.

Aquarium

Over Spring break I was able to take Aydan to the aquarium. It was suppose to be a family outing but of course Sam had to wake up at 6am that morning so there was no way that we would survive the outing. Sam REALLY loves his naps, as does his parents. It was a lot of fun to hang out with just Aydan. He is so funny and does not stop talking. I loved how he held my hand and I didn't even have to ask. We also met up with my brother, sister-in-law and some of their friends. It was a whole day excursion. The aquarium was super crowded but worth it. They have penguins!! They were so cute and playful. Aydan's favorite part was the eels, his new favorite animal. After the aquarium we grabbed some lunch and headed to the park. It was fun to let Aydan play with some friends and I got some adult conversation in. It was a great day and I truly enjoyed having a whole day with just me and my first baby.

Easter Celebration

We had a pretty busy Easter weekend. We dyed eggs on Saturday night followed by a pizza dinner. Then Sunday we made an Easter breakfast for Peter's parents. (They were just returning home from being out of town) Then to continue the cousins from up north came for an Easter egg hunt and brunch. And finally my brother and his wife stopped by for dessert. We had a house full of people most of the day but it was lots of fun and the boys had a great time.
